Welcome to another week of life within our interconnected universe! The week’s major events are the ingress of the Sun and Mercury into Cancer on Wednesday – marking the Winter Solstice – and the Cancer New Moon on Saturday. With the strong influence of the nurturing sign of Cancer, the focus of life becomes oriented towards home, family and the inner world of our feelings.

However the week starts with an extraordinary mixture of influences. While innovative Uranus urges us to think outside the square, serious Saturn is cautiously tightening its belt. The desire to break free from restrictions may result in erratic, unpredictable behaviour and events – on personal, professional and global levels. Fortunately a Venus-Neptune link-up is thrown into the mix on Tuesday, providing a dose of compassion or spiritual understanding that may dissolve mounting tensions.

On Thursday a meeting between the Sun and Mercury in Cancer helps to provide objectivity and sensitivity to the feelings of others. Interactions may even reach profound levels on Saturday due an emotionally intense Venus-Pluto contact, while the influence of Mars-Jupiter on Sunday may transform feelings into a more physical, expansive drive for action. If you factor in the building influence of romantic Neptune (featured next week), the weekend has the potential to create an interesting frisson in relationships!

Amongst all of this, don’t forget to make your New Moon wishes on Saturday. As mentioned earlier this is a Cancer New Moon, so there’ll be a focus on home, family, security and emotional sensitivity – in the midst of all the other strong planetary energies taking place!
