The week starts with the New Moon solar eclipse! We experience both a solar and a lunar eclipse (two weeks apart) approximately every six months, and this one occurs in the sensitive, imaginative sign of Pisces so we will experience it very much on a feeling level.
Eclipses are catalysts for change. They bring emotional issues to the forefront so each of us can see what we need to release from our life, what we need to change, and what we have that’s worth keeping. Eclipse effects can make things feel a bit shaky and it can be a challenge to maintain a sense of stability at this time.
The Pisces New Moon usually helps us to feel inspired by the magic of life and its infinite possibilities. Although this will still be the case, the New Moon eclipse will have a more dynamic impact than usual due to the strong presence of the action-planet Mars. Interacting with both Uranus and Jupiter, Mars urges us to turn our dreams into constructive action that expands the horizons of our life. In the background, the Jupiter-Uranus opposition generates powerful energies of sweeping global change.
Meanwhile an inspiring union between the Sun and Neptune (exact on Thursday but felt all week) will help us to choose altruistic paths that take the wellbeing of others into consideration. Creative types will benefit from the Neptune influence, which tends to spark the imagination and boost creative activities of any kind. Mercury also joins Neptune on Saturday, providing further inspiration and encouraging sensitive communication.
It’s also important to mention that Venus turns retrograde on Sunday for six weeks, encouraging us to reflect on our relationships and make much-needed changes in this area of our life, if appropriate. (Incidentally Venus’ retrograde period is traditionally not a good time for weddings!)
