January 11, 2017

This is a week of powerful energies that need to be utilised constructively – ideally in ways that help you develop activities or plans that were started around the time of the Capricorn New Moon on 29 December.

If you’re working towards a definite goal, your activities may receive a transformative growth spurt from a Mars-Pluto interaction during the week. New opportunities may arise to assist your path, but grasping and utilising these opportunities could require strength and determination.

Also at this time we’re all dealing with the strong energies of change – on both personal and collective levels – due to a strong Uranus influence. Uranus challenges us to bring about innovative changes that benefit not only our own life, but also the lives of others whose lives we touch.

The expansive influence of Jupiter amplifies all of these energies – particularly at Thursday’s Full Moon. And this is a Cancer Full Moon, so we’ll all be a bit hypersensitive at this time. Tread carefully (while quietly remaining committed to your goals) as you go about your daily activities…

If you handle the energies of this week wisely, it can be actually be a time of great progress – particularly since Mercury, the planet of communication, finally returns to direct motion on 9 January after its three-week retrograde period. With Mercury now direct, activities associated with communications and transport will gradually return to normal. (If you’d like to receive a free 2017 Guide to Mercury Retrograde – which shows you how to make the most of these periods throughout the year – just sign up to my Newsletter at the top of this page.)

Throughout the week there’s also a rather beautiful sub-tone: a magical link-up between Neptune and Venus (both in the mystical sign of Pisces) that will gain prominence from Friday to Sunday. Tuning in to these energies will help you to deal with any challenges that arise during the week in a flexible, compassionate and loving way.

This delightful union between Venus and Neptune is a soft, romantic influence, and its ability to stimulate the imagination is also beneficial for creative activities (particularly from Friday to Sunday when the Moon is in creative Leo). Spend time with Mother Nature – particularly the sea, if you can.

On Sunday afternoon the Moon moves into practical Virgo, urging us to make improvements in our lives and help others in down-to-earth ways. You might even feel like giving your home a thorough clean!
